Missouri Conference Camps Sold on Auction
Three camps owned by the Missouri Conference were sold on an auction at noon today at the Courtyard by Marriot Conference Center in Columbia.
- Blue Mountain Camp (Fredericktown) was sold to a private buyer from the St. Louis area for $750,000. He said he is not yet ready to announce future plans for the camp.
- Wilderness Retreat and Development Center (Lawson) was purchased by the Wilderness Camping and Retreat Association for $675,000. They intend to reopen then camp, and are in conversation with individuals at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City regarding partnering with them on camps for children with specific medical conditions.
- Camp Galilee (El Dorado Springs) was purchase by Mike Housh, for $325,000. He is a resident of El Dorado Springs and intends to reopen the camp. He is in conversation about partnering with WINGS Refuge, a faith-based organization that supports women and children who are victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Online Auction of Camp Equipment Continues
A week remains for on the online auction of furnishing and equipment at the three camps that were sold. The property is located at the camp sites, and is listed by each individual camp site.
